Candle Tips

  • On the first burn, ensure the full top layer of wax has melted to the edge of the vessel, so the candle learns to burn evenly.
  • Remember to trim the wick before each light.
  • Do not leave the candle unattended.
  • Avoid direct sunlight and keep away from drafts and open windows.
  • Keep the candle in a cool dry place.
  • Discontinue use once there is 1.5cm left of wax in the vessel.

Scented Soy Candles

All our scented candles are handmade in Melbourne in small batches, using 100% natural soy wax, lead-free cotton wicks and vessels designed to be reused/recycled. As our candles are handmade, every candle can be different.

Soy Wax
We use 100% Soy wax, sourced from the USA. Some of our candles may have visible veins, air bubbles or small holes throughout the wax, this is completely normal as we don’t use any additives, the best news is those imperfections  won't affect your candle experience.

Wicks
The only reason why candle companies would use lead in their wicks, is to ensure the wick stands up straight throughout the burning experience. We don’t believe it’s necessary to be burning lead, but it is important to ensure the wick is centred at all times.

To make sure the wick is centred, after you extinguish your candle and it’s cooling down, grab a wick dipper or even a bamboo skewer and straighten/move the wick across to the centre. Most of the time, the wick will curl and will only need to be lifted and moved slightly.

Once the candle cools completely, the wick is now ready for the next burn.

Why does everyone harp on about trimming the wick?

Well it’s very common practice for serious candle burners to trim the wick before you light your candle. This ensures that the flame doesn’t get too large and out of control, it decreases the amount of soot building up and it will get you the most burn time out of your candle.  It’s such a small effort for a large reward, so just trim the wick!

Fragrance Oil
The fragrance oil used in our candles is non-toxic, vegan, cruelty free and made in Australia. There is a high percentage of essential oils used within these oils as well as man-made ingredients. This ensures that the candle gives a good cold and hot throw of the scent and does its job by providing a sensory experience.

Vessels
Our amber jars used for our scented candles can be reuse or recycled. The black lids are made out of ABS plastic, which can also be recycled. If you are going to recycle these, please remove the white inner from the lid before disposing in the recycling bin, as this part cannot be recycled.
